On Tuesday, October 29, the FIHS girls & boys varsity golf team won first place at Districts! This year, the Girls’ team District tournament took place at Palatka Golf Club with the course being a par 72. They won again for the sixth year in a row scoring an overall of 376. The 2024 2A District 4 Girls champion is Senior Chole Blanc who scored a 79. Sophomore Shayla Abbas was 1st runner up scoring 80.
The boys’ team District occurred at Eagle Harbor Golf Club a par 72 course this year. They scored with an overall of 282, 6-under par. Senior Emmet Kuhlenkamp is the 2024 2A District 4 Boys champion with a score of 68, 4-under par. Junior Tyler Mawhinney was 1st runner up scoring 70, 2-under par.
The Fleming Island High School girls’ & boys’ golf teams are headed to regionals next week. On Monday, November 4, the boys’ team will play at The Country Club at Lake City. On Tuesday, November 5, the Girls will play at Quail Heights Country Club.
