Camden, Arkansas — A dramatic police chase in Arkansas ended with a terrifying crash that left a 4-month-old baby ejected from a vehicle and four young children in danger, according to state authorities. Newly released dashcam footage shows the moments after the crash, including troopers rushing to rescue the infant and other children from the wreckage.
Authorities say 28-year-old Tyrice Fletcher was arrested following the May 24 incident after allegedly leading Arkansas State Police troopers on a lengthy pursuit at speeds exceeding 100 mph while four young children were inside the vehicle.
Traffic Stop Escalates Into High-Speed Pursuit
According to the Arkansas State Police, the incident began when a trooper attempted to stop Fletcher for an alleged traffic violation in Camden. Officials said the trooper was unaware that children were riding in the vehicle at the time.
Instead of stopping, Fletcher allegedly fled, leading officers on a dangerous chase through multiple roadways. During the pursuit, authorities say the vehicle swerved into oncoming traffic and continued at high speeds, creating significant danger for other motorists.
Police later described the pursuit as lengthy before it ended in a violent crash.
Vehicle Overturns Near Live Electrical Wires
Authorities say Fletcher eventually lost control of the vehicle while navigating a curve. The vehicle reportedly left the roadway, traveled through a yard, struck a light pole, and overturned.
The wrecked vehicle came to rest dangerously close to live electrical wires, adding another layer of risk for first responders and occupants inside the SUV.
While Arkansas State Police released portions of the pursuing trooper’s dashcam footage, the actual moment of the crash was not included in the public video.
Troopers Rescue Infant and Other Children
The most emotional moments in the released footage occur immediately after the crash.
As one trooper cautiously approached the overturned vehicle, another officer was seen carrying what authorities identified as a 4-month-old infant. According to police, the baby had been ejected from the vehicle during the crash.
In the footage, a trooper asks whether everyone inside the vehicle is okay. Someone responds affirmatively before expressing concern about the infant. The officer quickly reassures the occupant by saying the baby is safe.
Authorities said three additional children, all younger than six years old, were also rescued from the vehicle.
Later footage shows officers comforting the children. One trooper is seen holding a toddler while completing paperwork, while another clip shows an officer reassuring a child who asked whether a sibling was okay.

Police Condemn Driver’s Actions
Arkansas State Police officials strongly criticized the decisions that allegedly led to the incident.
“As a father, I cannot fathom a parent making the decision to drive recklessly, much less flee from law enforcement, with their children in the vehicle,” said Col. Mike Hagar.
The statement underscored concerns about the risks the children faced throughout the pursuit.
Multiple Charges Filed Against Suspect
Following the crash, Fletcher was charged with numerous offenses, including felony fleeing, possession of a defaced firearm, possession of a firearm by certain persons, four counts of child endangerment, criminal mischief, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, four counts of failing to use child passenger restraints, reckless driving, driving without a license, failure to wear a seatbelt, and improper passing.
Police footage from inside a patrol vehicle reportedly showed Fletcher lying across a seat after his arrest. Authorities also noted that he appeared unable to identify the infant when questioned.
As of now, it remains unclear whether Fletcher has entered any pleas, denied the allegations, or retained legal representation.
