Wild Video Shows NYC Five Guys Employee Pummeled With Chairs as Mob Storms Restaurant

New York City, New York — A shocking late-night assault inside a Manhattan Five Guys restaurant is drawing widespread attention after video footage showed a group of young men attacking an employee with chairs and other objects following celebrations connected to Game 4 of the NBA Finals.

The violent encounter unfolded around 3 a.m. Thursday at a Five Guys location on West 42nd Street near Seventh Avenue, just blocks from Madison Square Garden, according to police.

Authorities said a 24-year-old employee was assaulted by a large group of individuals who entered the restaurant and quickly turned the situation into chaos.

Viral Video Captures Violent Attack

Video clips circulating on social media appear to show roughly a dozen young men confronting the employee behind the counter.

During the altercation, several individuals can be seen throwing stools and chairs toward the worker while others allegedly climbed over the counter to continue the attack.

The employee appeared to attempt to defend himself by tossing French fries from the fryer area toward the group as the confrontation escalated.

One witness recording the incident could be heard shouting in alarm as the attack intensified.

“Ohh, they’re killing him, oh!”

The footage reportedly shows furniture being hurled toward the worker until he was knocked to the ground and trapped in a corner beneath a pile of chairs.

As the group eventually fled the restaurant, the employee appeared injured and visibly shaken.

Worker Suffers Injuries During Assault

According to the NYPD, the employee sustained a laceration to his right arm during the attack.

Video circulating online appeared to show the worker bloodied after the incident, with one of his shoes missing as the suspects exited the restaurant.

At one point in the footage, someone can allegedly be heard yelling:

“Abort, abort, abort.”

Moments later, the group ran out of the establishment.

Authorities have not released information regarding the identities of the individuals involved.

Speculation Surrounds Possible Motive

Social media posts accompanying the viral footage claimed the assault may have been connected to the employee allegedly being a fan of the San Antonio Spurs.

However, police have not confirmed any motive, and there has been no official evidence released linking the attack to a sports rivalry.

The employee did not appear to be wearing Spurs-related clothing in the videos that circulated online.

Some footage showed individuals inside the restaurant wearing New York Knicks apparel, including a Knicks T-shirt and a Knicks hat. However, it remains unclear whether those individuals directly participated in the attack.
