CASTLE ROCK, Colorado — A devastating incident in a Colorado neighborhood has left a former Penn State football player hospitalized with life-threatening injuries and claimed the lives of his fiancée and another pedestrian after authorities say a driver intentionally struck them before fleeing the scene.
The crash occurred around 10:30 a.m. on Monday, June 8, when 30-year-old Kyle Vasey and his fiancée, 35-year-old Corinne More, were taking a walk in their neighborhood. Investigators say 28-year-old Adam Bauserman allegedly drove his vehicle into the couple and a third victim before leaving the area.
Former Penn State Player Suffers Multiple Serious Injuries
According to information shared by Vasey’s family, the former football player sustained extensive injuries throughout his body. His parents, Bruce and Shelley Vasey, revealed that he suffered three spinal fractures, four broken ribs, and multiple additional fractures.
The injuries have required significant medical intervention. Family members said Vasey has already undergone six surgeries and remains hospitalized while doctors continue monitoring his recovery.
“Kyle endured multiple fractures all over his body. His left arm was the only limb not injured,” his parents shared in a fundraising update.
Medical professionals reportedly warned that the injuries placed him at substantial risk of permanent disfigurement or even death. Despite the severity of his condition, relatives said there is optimism regarding his long-term physical recovery.
Fiancée and Another Victim Lose Their Lives
While Vasey continues his recovery, the tragedy has been made even more painful by the loss of his fiancée.
Corinne More died from injuries sustained in the crash. Authorities also confirmed that a third victim, 72-year-old Dianne Windes, passed away as a result of the incident.
The deaths have shocked the local community and left family members grieving as they cope with both devastating loss and a lengthy recovery process for Vasey.
His parents described the emotional toll in a message supporting their son.
“His beautiful fiancée did not survive,” they wrote. “At this time, we are asking for your thoughts and prayers for a speedy recovery of his body, heart, and mind.”
Witnesses Help Police Track Down Suspect
According to investigators, witnesses observed the suspect allegedly return to the crash scene after making a U-turn. Reports indicate he drove back slowly, appearing to observe the aftermath before leaving.
Several witnesses reportedly followed the vehicle for more than five miles until it reached Daniels Park, where law enforcement officers were able to take the driver into custody.
Authorities later stated that they do not believe the suspect personally knew any of the victims involved.
Douglas County Sheriff Darren Weekly described the aftermath as a deeply disturbing scene.
“This was a horrific scene.”
Investigators also noted that the suspect was reportedly “unusually quiet” after the incident and allegedly asked officers whether he had killed one of the victims.
Multiple Charges Filed Against Driver
Court records show Bauserman was allegedly operating a vehicle while his license was suspended following a previous DUI-related matter.

The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office announced that he now faces seven felony charges and one misdemeanor charge. The charges include vehicular homicide, failure to remain at the scene of an accident involving death, vehicular assault, second-degree assault involving an at-risk person, and driving with a restrained license.
Officials have set his bond at $100,000 while the case moves through the legal system.
Community Rallies Around Recovery Effort
As friends, family members, and supporters continue to process the tragedy, a fundraiser created by Vasey’s parents has received strong community support.
As of June 9, the campaign had raised more than $31,000 toward its $40,000 goal to help cover growing medical expenses and recovery-related costs.
Family members acknowledged that Vasey’s road to recovery will likely be long and difficult, but they remain hopeful as he continues receiving treatment.
