Max Verstappen, the current Red Bull driver, is widely considered the best driver. But why? One of the main reasons Max is regarded as the best is his domination in the 2023 season. He won 19 of the 22 races, losing 1 to Carlos Sainzs in Singapore and 1 in Saudi Arabia to his teammate Checo Perez. He also has won the past 4 driver’s championships in a row.
Furthermore, his ability in the wet conditions is impeccable. This can be attributed to the training his dad gave him as a young child. This is most present in the 2024 San Palo Grand Prix. Max went from P17 to P1. The weather was a downpour leading to many DNFs. One driver, Liam Lawson, stated he could “barely see what was in front of” him. Max was making amazing overtakes while the rest of the drivers are concentrating on not crashing.
While Max may be a contribution driver, there is no doubt that he is one of the best and will be going down in the F1 history books.
