Hello! We are back from Christmas break and I wanted to give you a few simple ways to study and do work in order for you to feel confident on exams for the third and fourth quarter. As well as give tips on studying for the SAT.
- Flashcards: making flashcards for the test in an easy way to quiz yourself on terms or specific topics that your teacher may test you on. It’s also helpful because you can create them digitally on a quizlet if you don’t want to write them out on paper flashcards. I prefer quizlet because I can practice on-the-go with my phone and study in the car, in the hallways, or at lunch.
- Visual Images: for science you get many pictures of different animals, you could draw out these images and write small notes under it to help you remember. Creating visual images helps with remembering certain facts. This is especially helpful if you are visual learner.
- Podcast/Voicemail: Recording yourself or someone else reading your notes is good because you can listen to it while your doing other homework, chores or as you’re walking to your next class at school. Some people are auditory learners and do better when they hear things multiple times.
For the SAT a good way to prepare is through Khan Academy who has a 3 month math plan with 13 different units and 11 units of reading each showing the different types of problems that you might encounter on the test. Each lesson has a quiz and each unit has a test at the end. There’s also a practice test for reading and math. Khan Academy also gives tips on how to take the SAT and be successful when the times comes
I hope these study tips come in handy for you!
