For those of you that are members of the National Honors Society, you may want to know this information.
It has been announced by the officers of NHS at the November meeting that from now on, at the first Tuesday tutoring of each month, only seniors can sign up to be a tutor. This means that if you are a junior and you show up, your time spent there will not be counted. This decision has been made in order to give the current seniors a higher chance at getting their necessary hours to receive a tutoring cord by graduation.
Remember that as members of NHS one must
-complete 30 hours of community service with NHS by the end of their Senior year
-complete 5 hours of tutoring in order to receive a tutoring cord
-follow rules and expectations
Remember, the tutoring cord for NHS is not a requirement; however, it is a nice addition to have when graduating, and it will look good on your transcripts when applying to colleges.
*Just a reminder that NHS tutoring is not on the first Tuesday of the month but on the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th. Anyone interested in being tutored can show up after school in the Media Center. Don’t be afraid to ask for help! They are there to teach you and hopefully help you excel in your classes.
