This year’s Austin Grand Prix was an exciting one. Liam Lawson made his debut for the 2024 season, taking Daniel Ricciardo’s place on the Red Bull Visa Cash App team. At the start of the race Charles Leclerc jumped to first place overtaking Carlos Sainzs, Max Verstappen, and Lando Norris in the first turn, keeping this lead throughout the race. On lap 2, Lewis Hamilton spun off the track and into the gravel, a near-identical incident to his team mate, George Russell, crash in qualifying the previous day. This spin out ended the Brits time in the Austin Grand Prix. In a calculated decision Ferrari pitted Sainzs on lap 29, allowing him to eventually obtain 2nd place. For the remainder of the race the positions stayed relatively the same, and on lap 56 Charles raced across the finish line securing the win with Carlos shortly after, making a 1-2 podium finish for Ferrari, and Charles 4th win of the season. This was an amazing race weekend for Ferrari as they secured 55 points between their two drivers, Charles 30 and Carlos 25. These points moved the red racing team up to 496 points, closing the gap behind Red Bull Racing, 504 points.
